This September, H&M will take its support for UNICEF-All for Children initiative with a special collection of fashionable, covetable clothes for children. Available at 150 stores worldwide including across Saudi Arabia and also online, 25 percent of all sales from the collection will go directly to support UNICEF’s projects to promote children’s rights to education and protection among vulnerable communities. H&M and UNICEF launched the initiative in November 2009. It is a five-year project that is supported by a $4.5 million donation from H&M and the project is now being extended from communities in southern India to also help children in Bangladesh. H&M’s All for Children collection is full of playful and timeless pieces, which parents as well as their kids will love. The collection is made to be versatile, so the pieces can be mixed and matched and worn throughout the season and beyond. It is also one to be coveted, with cashmere used throughout to provide comfort for when the colder weather comes in. For girls there are dresses, skirts, shorts and gilets, with floral prints, bow-tie decorations and stripe trimmings, all in autumnal colors of nude, mole and coral. For boys, there are check shirts, sweat-pants and hoodies, cord blazers and the essential parka. Funds raised by the collection will support the initiative, which aims to create long-term change for generations of children in some of the poorest parts of the world, where many of H&M’s clothes are made.

Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach | Suite101.com

Myrtle Beach is a famous vacation destination on the coast in South Carolina, known as the Grand Strand. Along with an impressive beach, there are hundreds of hotels and restaurants. One of the more popular areas of shopping, restaurants and entertainment in is Barefoot Landing, just up US highway 17 in North Myrtle Beach.

Barefoot Landing takes advantage of the locale, with stores set around a 27-acre lake, with pedestrian walkways across the water, connecting the stores and restaurants.

Barefoot Landing has a vast array of places to eat, from casual to upscale restaurants. Some of the unique dining establishments open as of this writing:

- along with more casual fare, at Johnny Rockets and Wild Wing Cafe.

In addition to full scale restaurants, Barefoot Landing has fun food and snack shops. Families can grab a light bite at Boardwalk Coffee House Eats and Treats or ice cream at two different shops.

There are also two places to buy salt water taffy and other treats. My favorite is Wee R. Sweets, which has very soft, flavorful taffy. The shop has been in business since Barefoot Landing opened, and is on its second generation of owners. There are places for fudge, peanuts and crepes, for those who want to appease their sweet tooth on the go.

There are close to one hundred stores offering apparel, jewelry, shoes and accessories, as well as knickknacks for the home. You can find many of these names in your local shopping mall, but very few malls have a Ron Jon Surf Shop, Carolina Breezin’ or the Mole Hole.

A complete list is available at Barefoot Landing website . Sports fans should not miss Klig’s Kites, which, in addition to the spectacular flyers, contains a variety of sports-themed merchandise imaginable. Del Sol has unusual clothing that goes from white to colorful when exposed to the sun.

The Myrtle Beach area is known for fun in the sun, but occasionally, play is interrupted by afternoon thunderstorms. Tourists can take a break from the sand and surf at the Alligator Adventure or T.I.G.E.R.S Preservation Station.

Guests can enjoy a break from the heat at the Coca-Cola Cool Zone. Nearby is the Alabama Theater, which offers top country music talent, the House of Blues and Barefoot Resort & Golf. There is enough to keep visitors occupied after a full day at the beach.
