'On Stage at the Davis' to feature music, drama, comedy
I’m really excited to announce our 2011-12 On Stage at the Davis performing arts series. This season is diverse and offers something for everyone – it just may be our best one yet!
The season will open October 1, with piano virtuoso Emile Pandolfi in Concert followed by a warm and funny version of A Christmas Carol on November 5, the show-stopping Ain’t Misbehavin’ on February 3, Canadian band Sagapool on March 17 and the Adam Growe Comedy and Quiz Showe on April 21.
Tickets go on sale July 1. Tickets for all shows are available 24 hours a day online at www.CabarrusArtsCouncil.org and at the Davis Theatre Box Office Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m., in person or by phone, 704-920-2753.
Operated by the Cabarrus Arts Council, the Davis Theatre is located in Cabarrus County’s historic courthouse at 65 Union Street S in downtown Concord. The beautiful space features state-of-the-art sound and lights and just 227 seats, every one of them close to the stage. Audience members get to enjoy the artwork in The Galleries before and after the shows, and performers greet the audience, sign autographs and pose for photos afterward.

Emile Pandolfi in Concert, Saturday, Oct. 1, 8 p.m., $36
Classically trained pianist Emile Pandolfi is the embodiment of a full eight octaves of impeccable, premium entertainment. With a remarkable repertoire and well-tuned humor, he blends familiar Broadway and romantic standards with classical favorites as he surprises the audience with unexpected tales and laugh-inducting anecdotes betweens songs. Audiences all over the United States savor his performances and then line up to buy his almost 30 albums.
A Christmas Carol, Saturday, Nov. 5, 8 p.m., $32
British-born actor Jeremy Webb’s take on the Dickens’ classic encompasses a lively mix of humor and emotional depth that will put you in the holiday spirit! Webb plays – and owns – all 30 roles in this fresh retelling of the familiar story, from the Ghost of Christmas Past to Tiny Tim to the miserly and ultimately transformed Ebenezer Scrooge.
