Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Available Today

Despite today being the wide-release date, the first Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 devices have been in consumer’s hands for varying periods of time.  The first 5,000 units, marked as Limited Edition and featuring Android 3.0 (since wirelessly updated to 3.1), were given to attendees of the Google I/O conference earlier in May of this year.  Additionally, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 was released in one store in New York City, Best Buy Union Square , on June 8, 2011. This one-location early release date gave consumers in the Manhattan area a 10-day lead on ownership of this newest Galaxy Tab.

The Galaxy Tab will face amazing competiton from not only Apple, but also Asus, who has claimed that they will ship more tablets than any other manufacturer than Apple during 2011.  Motorola, who released the first Android Honeycomb tablet, which was the first version of Android built specifically for tablets, has had less than spectacular results with their Xoom tablet.  This could have been due to the offering of 3G/4G-upgradable devices only at launch.  Samsung looks to reverse this market strategy by beginning with wi-fi only models.

Samsung competitor Acer claims there is still market demand outside of Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android for Windows 7 based tablets (such as the HP Slate 500 ).  However Windows is not expected to be a major competitor in the tablet market until the 2012 release of Windows 8 .

help needed from newby to fit a 16gb sd card to my X10 mini pro ...

O.k i managed to sort this one out for myself, i connected the phone to my p.c the 2gb sd card on the phone showed up as drive F, i opened a new file onto my desktop, i then selected 'all' from the edit menu of the F drive folder and clicked copy, i then pasted into the open new file on my desktop which i named phonecard. i then plugged the new 16gb sd into its holder and into the p.c , i opened this up from my computer and selected the contents of the phonecard folder and pasted them into the 16gb sd card. i now have a back up on my p.c called phonecard which i can refer back to if needs be. i then turned off the phone ,removed the 2gb card and replaced it with the 16gb card, switched on and blow me it works . Dont know why i didnt think of this earlier, i somehow thought it would involve some kind of technical genius , why sony ericsson cant put it into the manual somewhere i dont know , hopefully this helps anyone else stumbling about in the dark as i was .
