LOUISVILLE (WAVE) - Here's some of the events going on in the WAVE3 Nation today and tomorrow.

The Louisville man accused of firing a shotgun into a group of boys Monday night, hitting one of them and sending him to the hospital is back in court facing attempted murder charges this morning.  Investigators say the boys were playing pranks Monday, when 56-year-old Michael Bishop fired bird-shot at them, and hit 12-year-old Jacob Eberly in the back.   Eberly remains in the hospital.

Also in court today, Kathy Coy, in Bowling Green.  She's accused of killing an acquaintance, and cutting the woman's unborn baby from her body.  Coy is charged with kidnapping, murder, and resisting arrest in the death of 21-year-old Jamie Stice back in April.

Clark county first responders will show you just how dangerous live power lines are with two training demonstrations today.  They'll be at the Clark county REMC warehouse on State Road 60 in Sellersburg at 10am and 2pm demonstrating how they handle hot power lines, and why you should avoid them.

If you're looking for any Derby Festival Memorabilia, this is your weekend.  The Derby Festival's 10th annual yard sale starts Friday morning at 9am at 1001 S. Third St.  You can get old posters, pins, t-shirts and even Christmas ornaments with a derby flare.  The yard sale runs until 4pm Friday, and from 9am-1pm Saturday.

In Southern Indiana...get ready to get your BBQ fix.  Smokin' on the River takes over Jeffersonville's riverfront starting at 11 Friday and running through Saturday.  As many as 48 professional and 25 backyard BBQ teams will compete for prizes and glory.  And both Friday and Saturday there's a blues festival, with bands performing at Riverstage.

Racing under the lights returns Friday night at Churchill Downs for Downs after Dark.  June 17th's theme is "Hot Summer Nights" and will feature hot orange and hot pink decorations with a 1960's vibe, and a DJ spinning tunes.  Gates open at 4pm, racing begins at 6pm, and the final live race will be just after 11pm, with the party continuing for another hour in the paddock.

Something to look forward to Saturday: 25-cent scoops at all of the nine area Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen locations.   Meteorologist Christie Dutton says the temps will be up, so this might be a nice way to cool down.

Golubka: 60s Tea Time Pudding Cake

Fauchon's cakes are unlike anything I've seen before. The shapes are often extremely simple - domes or very flat rectangles. The decorations seem to be placed instinctively, with a sort of raw confidence that I wish I had more of when it comes to decorating and plating food. One side of a Fauchon cake may be completely covered with edible gold leaf, while the other one remains bare. There is no visible strategy, an effortless feeling that makes for some of the most elegant desserts I've ever seen. If you are using the type of cake mold, which you'll have to flip (like we did here), distribute the crust onto the bottom after refrigeration and before flipping. If you are using a springform pan, which requires no flipping, form the crust first, pour the mixture over it, and then refrigerate. When set, the pudding should slide right out of the form. Optionally, garnish with fresh berries and ground pistachios.
