Final 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2′ Trailer Reminds Us That ...
As just a young chap, and someone who didn’t know anything about Hogwarts, Voldemort, anything of that sort. Walking out, I found myself dumbstruck from the experience being transported to another world for about 152 minutes, and I was hooked. I read all the books released up to that point within a couple of months, and I’ve been a fan of the franchise since.Growing up with the series, I’ve been able to place the release of each subsequent movie with where I was at that point in my life, for better or for worse. It’s something that has stuck with me all these years, even if I’m not as into the series as I once was. And while the first two don’t hold up at all as an older, more discriminating viewer (they’re kind of terrible, really), I’m grateful to them for sparking my imagination and introducing me to this universe, which has given me so much entertainment and joy for almost ten years.
And now it’s ending. While the series basically ended nearly four years ago when the book Deathly Hallows was released, the arrival of the final film means that there’s really nothing left. Word just emerged of author J.K. Rowling doing something else that seems to be set in the world, but the story that needed to be told was told, and it was done so incredibly well. This conclusion means a lot to me, personally, as it (please excuse the schmaltz) feels like an end to my childhood.
The trailer – just like the one we got in April – shows off just what you would want from the second part of this story, after the first felt the need to spend way too much time on hiking and camping, in favor of plot or character development. The whole thing is action packed, with plenty of destruction scattered throughout; this really, truly feels like the epic conclusion that we got in the book, and the one we’ve been hoping the movies could deliver. What’s most important is that there’s real emotion here, which I’m sure will be one of the strongest elements of the actual film.
I have to admit, I got chills from this trailer. Maybe you will, too, when you watch it below, or in HD at Apple .
